When I saw this craft on the internet my first thought was “Oh, I can do that!” Through the course of completing this craft I have come to understand the difference of being able to do and the ability to do well. But, I won’t give it all away at the beginning, so let’s get this show on the road.
First, here’s a link to the tutorial I attempted to follow over at Make It & Love It.
Next here’s a list of materials I used for this project:
• old t-shirt
• scissors
• needle and thread
• safety pins
First, I cut up my old t-shirt as per the tut's instructions.
Then, I sewed the strips together. By hand. I don't own a sewing a machine, or know how to work one.
In sewing these things, I FINALLY figured out what this thingie is for and how to use it! I was very proud of myself (sorry for the blurry pic).
Next, I attempted to braid the strips like the tut told me too. As you can see, I'm not very good at braiding aside from the normal three strand braid. Even Tom couldn't help, though he was trying.
When all was said and done, the damn thing was WAY too long to be a head band, so I ended up with this weird knot-turd on my head. Oh well. Can't win them all.
Better luck next time. I like to sew too but, I have had some problems with it. At least the weekend comes soon.
