I meant to post this yesterday, but I forgot! Oh well, it’s up now. This is a Photobomb post from the trip Mr. LL and I took over Labor Day weekend to St. Francisville, LA. It’s a small town with old plantations. We stayed at the B&B at the Greenwood Plantation. We wanted to take the “Mystery Tour” at the Myrtles Plantation, but it poured down rain all Saturday and they only do that tour on Friday and Saturday nights.
Anyway, here are some photos from our stay.
This where we stayed. We stayed in a room on the lower level. Next time we will spend the extra $40 to stay in the bigger/nicer upper level rooms.
This is the plantation at the place we stayed. We didn’t take the tour, though it was included in the price to stay there. Next time.
While I was taking pictures of the big house, this little guy showed up.
He liked us so much that he jumped in our car and got the seats all muddy (we were stocking up on drinks from the drink machine, btw).
We did a lot of walking on the grounds at the plantation.
Mr. LL found this “little” guy while we were walking around on the grounds.
These two decided they could just come into our room. They hung out with us till we went into town to find dinner. We hope they went home.
Well, the trip was…interesting. Most of the people who went on the trip with us spent a majority of the time fighting. Luckily, The Gentleman Friend and I just kept to ourselves and managed to have a good time (however, I am ashamed to admit we did have one little spat which was mostly my fault–I am very grumpy when I wake up, and the “heated discussion” happened after I took a nap).
We spent plenty of time at the beach, swimming in the Gulf.
Darrin gathered up some goodies for his fish tank on one of the sandbars, while I chilled out under then tents we set up on the beach.
However, not all of the shells Darrin found were unoccupied.
Our last night there, we went and rode go-carts and this giant slingshot ride that was right across the street from our condo. It was a lot of fun.
But, it’s nice to be back home. 🙂
So, I did not bringing any library books to the beach (not that I have any checked out right now anyway). Instead I decided that if there was any down time for me to read, I’d catch up on my favorite magazine, BUST.
Greetings from my vacation! Ok, full disclosure, I wrote this before I left for vaca. Saturday, The Gentleman Friend and I set off to Florida on Saturday with a mix of his family and his dad’s girlfriend’s family. I hope we are having fun right now.
Next week, I’ll (hopefully) have pix from the trip to share. Also, I hope it’s not raining there. It has been raining nonstop in NOLA since we moved into the new place. Have a good week everyone!
